I have made a start on my quilt – (Photo below) – it has taken some thinking about even before I started. I couldn’t quite decide how to tackle it, then I had a brainwave – helped by sorting through some old magazines I was sorting out. I decided to construct the quilt in 5 segments of narrow bands, (of different widths) getting wider towards the bottom of the quilt – and piecing in the farm buildings as I get to them. I have just completed the background with the fields in the distance. In the photo you can see my working out on a huge sheet of paper, which I then chopped into 5 long pieces. The photo below that is a postcard of Hockney’s painting.
