The David Hockney Challenge was just the beginning…..

by Lynn Carr.

Here’s a photo of my finished Hockney-inspired quilt, Water Surface at the Maeght, which is 40″ x 30″.

My design was created from a photo I took of a pool in the gardens of the Maeght Gallery in St. Paul de Vence in Provence, showing water-distorted tiles, organic shapes of shadows and floating pine needles.

I took my inspiration from David Hockney’s paintings of water surfaces.

I’ve seen this quilt close up and it’s fabulous. Well done, Lynn.
